HobbyHero · Chrome Extension
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026
This policy explains how the HobbyHero browser extension (“HobbyHero”, “the extension”) handles information. HobbyHero is published by Runelight Ventures (“Runelight”, “we”, “us”). We built HobbyHero to be useful and unobtrusive — it is designed to keep your data on your own device.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to anyone who installs and uses the HobbyHero extension from the Chrome Web Store (or a compatible browser store).
2. What HobbyHero accesses
To do its job, HobbyHero reads the content of supported hobby-store web pages while you are viewing them, so it can display helpful information alongside those pages. This processing happens locally, in your browser. Specifically:
- Page content on supported sites — product names, prices and similar details on the hobby-store pages you visit, read on the fly to power the extension’s features. This is not stored on any server we control.
- Your preferences — settings such as your options and any items you choose to save, kept in your browser’s local/sync storage so the extension remembers them.
3. What HobbyHero does not do
- We do not collect your name, email, address, or payment information.
- We do not track your browsing history across the web.
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not transfer your data to third parties, except as required to comply with the law.
- We do not use your data for advertising or to build a profile of you.
4. Where your data lives
Preferences and saved items are stored using the browser’s built-in extension storage on your device. If you have browser sync enabled, that storage may sync across your own signed-in browsers through your browser vendor — Runelight never receives it. You can clear all of it at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage (see section 7).
5. Analytics
[If HobbyHero uses no analytics, keep this:] HobbyHero does not include third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
[If you add privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics later, disclose the provider and the anonymous data collected here.]
6. Permissions we request & why
Chrome asks you to approve certain permissions when you install HobbyHero. We request the minimum needed:
| Permission | Why HobbyHero needs it |
|---|---|
| Access to supported hobby-store sites (host permissions) | To read the page you’re viewing on those sites and show relevant information in place |
| Storage | To save your preferences and any items you choose to keep, on your device |
| [activeTab / scripting — list only what you actually declare] | [explain each one plainly] |
We use these permissions only to deliver the features described in the extension’s store listing, consistent with the Chrome Web Store’s Limited Use requirements.
7. Your choices & control
- Uninstall anytime — removing HobbyHero from your browser removes its access and its locally stored data.
- Clear stored data — you can clear the extension’s saved settings from your browser’s extension or site-data settings.
- Manage sync — control extension data syncing through your browser account settings.
8. Children
HobbyHero is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how HobbyHero handles data, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Where a change is material, we will reflect it in the extension’s store listing as well.
